A chilly day at the zoo.

Emma is hilarious.

Anna is adorable.

Addie wanted nothing to do with that weird shaped piece of metal.

Together Emma and Anna are quiet a pair.

Scars are souvenirs you never lose

Can something happen in your life that turns, what you thought, was a new soul into an old soul? or maybe are we all just old souls that need to be reminded of it?
New Soul
by Yael Naim

I'm a new soul

I came to this strange world
Hoping I could learn a bit 'bout how to give and take
But since I came here, felt the joy and the fear
Finding myself making every possible mistake

la, la,la

See I'm a young soul in this very strange world
Hoping I could learn a bit 'bout what is true and fake
But why all this hate? try to communicate
Finding trust and love is not always easy to make

La, la, la, la

uuuhhh

This is a happy end
Cause you don't understand
Everything you have done
Why's everything so wrong

This is a happy end
Come and give me your hand
I'll take you far away

I'm a new soul
I came to this strange world
Hoping I could learn a bit 'bout how to give and take
But since I came here, felt the joy and the fear
Finding myself making every possible mistake

I hate when the past comes out of nowhere to bite you in the butt.
(I might be a little over-dramatic this morning, I am tired and sick.)

He's up to something.

But, I don't really care what it is. My hubby rocks. (as opposed to the post,Why my husband sucks. )

"Not the gum drop buttons"

WARNING: Mark's halloween costume is sooooo scary.
(take needed precautions if small children are in view of the computer)
I was so afraid I couldn't hold the camera still.

The gingerbread man and his pose, they had a blast

Anna was Sharpay(HSM) complete with the attitude.
(BTW I have never seen the movie, how is that possible with3 girls?)

Emma was super girl of course.

A very satisfied Adelie, chocolate covered face and all.
(Addie was a bunny rabbit just to stop Emma from trying to be it for the 4th year in a row. Emma loves this costume and still plays dress up in it. The legs come up to her knees, the arms only go to her elbows and the crotch, well its not a pretty sight in that area, but she thinks she is hilarious when she wears it (and she usually is)).

And finally the favorite GingerBread quote of the night
"The only thing you'll ever be king of is King of Stupid."

A philly cheese steak please. (In Philly of course)

Mark and I are off on another world wind adventure. We are off to Philly not only for a cheese steak but to see Mark's best friend (finally) get married. We are so excited for Vince and Julie. We have known Vince forever and he is seriously one of the funniest people I know (way funnier than Mark, don't tell Mark I said that). Anyway he sent us a email reminder about the Wedding Rehersal and I had to share because it was too funny.

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick note to remind everyone that the wedding rehearsal will take place this Thursday evening at 5:30pm at St. David's Church in Willow Grove (316 N. Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090).

Julie will have directions from the church to dinner at Famous Dave's in the Northeast for anyone that needs them on Thursday evening. Dress for the evening is "Church BBQ", so please wear what you think both God and the inside of a pig would want to see you in. Any specific questions on this may be directed to Julie.

See you on Thursday!
-Vince

P.S. Julie, I didn't have Meg's email address, so please forward this to her or make sure she has the info. If I left anyone else off the list, please identify yourself now.

Back in Black

So I have never been a big AC/DC fan (okay who am I kidding, I was a huge fan back in the day), anyway there is a AC/DC Tribute Band who has made a remake of Back in Back and it is a absolutely great running song. So I told you I really have no conviction so I am back. So here is a little bullet point list of what's the Vaders have been up to.

  • Mark had nose surgery last friday and thought he was going to run the Top of Utah Marathon tomorrow. (I prayed that he wouldn't feel up to it and he doesn't, (yea for me) I don't have to be a single parent for another weekend, he was absolutely useless for days after the last marathon)
  • I hade a little doctor's office procedure that involved heavy narcotics and I have come to the realization that me and pain meds don't mix. I am not addicted or anything, they just make me down right crazy (fun for Mark, that's usually where I direct all my craziness).

  • Emma was struggle with health issuses and school issues which was adding to my craziness, but apparently she is now fine.

  • Anna has become my worst enemy. She and I have a very special relationship, she asks for something and I get it for her. She pretty much has always had her way with me. Mark mentioned to me that I have no backbone with her, to which I have been trying to develop one and we are constantly butting heads. Anna is seriously the most stubborn person I know.
  • We went to Yellowstone on vacay and had a blast. The girls and Mark thought it was hilarious to call it Poopystone. (Yea, potty humor, got to love it). When we were there we saw a Bison(they are NOT buffalo, people, sorry this is one of my pet peeves lately) going poopy to which Emma exclaimed, "Look Dad, it really is Poopystone."
  • Addie is hilarious, she loves nursery and has become very bossy. The cutest thing she is saying is "mean mommy" or "mean daddy", oh well you can't win them all.

Why?

I am trying to decide (or remember) why I write this blog. I love to say it is to keep family and friends up to date on the Vader's but, honestly I think it is just to amuse myself. "Oh Carrie, you are so clever and funny" I tell myself. Well I guess it comes down to the fact, I no longer care. I am grateful to all my dear friends who read this but, I've been wondering for a long time if blogs and facebook keep us in front of computers and make us less likely to call a friend to talk or to go to lunch. So this is my thoughts at the moment. ( I am very flakey and lack real conviction on a lot of things so this might change.) So peace out.
